Magento 2 · Adobe Commerce

A Magento 2 agency for stores with real complexity

Magento rewards teams who know it properly and punishes those who do not. We design, build, upgrade and maintain Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce stores, with the engineering discipline the platform demands.

Why Magento

The platform for businesses that do not fit a template

Magento 2 is open source and self-hosted, which gives you something a hosted platform cannot: complete control over the data model, the checkout and the code that runs your business.

That control has a cost. Magento needs proper hosting, regular patching and developers who understand its architecture. Handled well, it will carry a catalogue, pricing structure or integration landscape that would break a simpler platform.

  • Catalogue depth

Configurable, bundled and grouped products, layered navigation and very large catalogues, all supported natively.

  • Multi-store from one installation

Separate brands, countries, languages, currencies and price lists, managed from a single admin.

  • B2B built in

Adobe Commerce adds company accounts, shared catalogues, quotes and requisition lists for trade customers.

  • No ceiling on customisation

If the business rule can be described, it can be built into the platform rather than bolted on beside it.

How we build

Engineering standards we do not negotiate on

These are the habits that decide whether a Magento store is still healthy three years after launch.

Code

  • No edits to Magento core files, ever
  • Customisation through modules, plugins and observers, with preferences as a last resort
  • Magento coding standard and static analysis on every change
  • Automated tests around the logic that takes money

Delivery

  • Everything in Git, with reviewed pull requests
  • Separate development, staging and production environments
  • Repeatable, scripted deployments with a rollback path
  • Composer-managed dependencies, pinned and audited

Operations

  • Security patches applied promptly after release
  • Varnish or Fastly, Redis and OpenSearch configured properly
  • Error, uptime and performance monitoring
  • Documentation your next developer can actually use

Editions

Magento Open Source or Adobe Commerce?

Both share the same core. The difference is what is included and what you pay for it.

Questions

Magento questions we hear most

What does a Magento 2 agency do?

A Magento 2 agency designs, builds and maintains online stores on Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce. That covers custom development, theme work, integrations with systems such as ERP and payment providers, version upgrades, security patching, performance tuning and day-to-day support.

Is Magento 2 still a good choice?

Yes, for the right business. Magento 2 remains one of the most capable platforms for complex catalogues, B2B selling and multi-store setups, and it continues to receive regular feature and security releases. For a simple catalogue and a small team, a hosted platform such as Shopify is often the more economical choice.

What is the difference between Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce?

Magento Open Source is the free edition. Adobe Commerce is the paid edition built on the same core, adding B2B features, content staging, customer segmentation, vendor support and the option of Adobe’s managed cloud hosting.

Can you take over an existing Magento store?

Yes. We start with an audit of the code, extensions, security patches and performance, then agree a plan to stabilise the store before any new work begins.

What is Hyvä and do we need it?

Hyvä is a replacement front end for Magento 2 that removes most of the JavaScript the default Luma theme ships with. Stores on Hyvä are typically much faster and simpler to develop for. It is our default recommendation for new builds and a worthwhile upgrade for most existing stores. See Hyvä theme development.

How often does Magento need to be updated?

Adobe publishes security patches several times a year and a feature release roughly annually. Security patches should be applied soon after release, and stores should stay on a supported version line. We handle both under a support retainer.
